How to join
Joining Great Southern is easy — whether you’re brand new to the sport or looking for a high-performance program.
Step 1 – Book a Free Trial
Register as a Come & Try member in Swim Central. This free 30-day membership lets you attend any training sessions that suit your age and ability.
Step 2 – Assessment & Squad Placement
After your first few sessions, our coaches will chat with you and recommend the right squad for your goals.
Step 3 – Register in Swim Central
Once placed, you’ll complete full registration online. Detailed instructions are available in our Swim Central Guide below.
Step 4 – Club Fees & Pool Entry
Swimming SA fees cover insurance, Club fees cover coaching, equipment and lane hire. Pool entry is paid directly to the YMCA at each venue.

Sports Vouchers
Families can claim two $100 Sports Vouchers each season to reduce club fees. Ask the Treasurer if you need help.
